The Salvation Army is always one of the first organizations on the scene to provide disaster relief, locally and worldwide. As with the 2007 Washington State floods, The Army is providing relief to those effected by the current severe weather. Staff and volunteers are providing clean-up kits and canteens at statewide locations. They continue to aid in sandbagging and feeding meals. Shelter is also being provided in some counties, including Lewis and Snohomish. In Snohomish County, three Red Cross shelters are active with meals being provided by The Salvation Army. The organization continues to stand-by in preparation for more evacuations.
