The Service Extension program is
a network of local volunteers people just like you -
who believe in the mission and the message of The Salvation
Army and agree to represent the Army in their community. Through
these volunteers,
The Salvation Army's mission is carried out every day throughout
the174 Service Extension units in the Northwest.
Service Extension provides for emergency
needs, such as food needs, clothing, emergency lodging, rent
or utility assistance and other critical needs. Homeless shelters,
domestic abuse centers and drug and alcohol rehabilitation
centers are located in larger cities throughout the Division
and their services are available to any and all who need The
Salvation Army's assistance. Teams are also located throughout
the Northwest Division to provide immediate response when
disaster strikes our communities.
Each area covered by Service Extension
is self-funded, responsible for raising the funds necessary
for The Salvation Army to extend local support. When you donate
to The Salvation Army's Service Extension program, your donation
is used to support programs and services to help people of
need in your community. Additional funding is obtained through
Service Extension Red Kettle campaigns during the Christmas
season and through the support of local United Way and United
Fund campaigns.
